2x Super Bowl Champion Lacrosse Player Chris Hogan Is Taking His Talents To The Carolina Panthers
Am I a little upset that Chris Hogan was a free agent and the Eagles weren’t smart enough to snatch him up? Of course I am. Incredibly upset, actually.
With that being said, I couldn’t be happier for my guy Chris. What a career he’s been able to build here. From playing lacrosse at Penn State, to getting a year in of college football at Monmouth, to signing as an undrafted free agent, bouncing around with a few different teams and then landing with the New England Patriots where he became a 2x Super Bowl Champion. And now he gets to keep his career going down in Charlotte with the Carolina Panthers. That just goes to show you the type of character that the sport of lacrosse breeds. Never once did Chris Hogan decide to give up. Never once did Chris Hogan decide to stop working. It takes that tenacious work ethic to become a great lacrosse player, and Chris Hogan was able to parlay that work ethic into a pretty lengthy career in the National Football League now.
And the best part about it? Well now I don’t need to feel a little guilty about being a huge Chris Hogan guy. It always felt a little weird rooting for the guy when he was with New England. There were times when I felt like I needed to conceal my fandom considering it is sacrilege to cheer for the bad guys. There were also some reports a month or so ago about Hogan ending up with the Giants. That would have been even worse considering not only would I not be able to root for him, but he’d also have bum ass Eli trying to get him the ball. So now that he gets to go hang out in Charlotte for a while on a team that isn’t necessarily that big of a threat to the Eagles? It’s pretty much a dream scenario. Plus, UNC and Duke aren’t that far away so maybe he can get that lacrosse stick back in his hands and train for a 2nd career in the PLL soon. I don’t know. We’ll take it one day at a time I suppose. But a guy can dream, can’t he?
